  • Functional in C and at least one (1) other structured programming language.
  • Able to demonstrate programming logic by writing pseudo code for a solution to a given problem.

Description of duties

  • Develops and maintains applications and databases by evaluating client needs; analyzing requirements; developing software systems.
    • Identifies project requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual clients and other persons who may understand service requirements.
    • Analyzes requirements; arranges in programming sequence; prepares a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.
    • Programs in the target computer language.
    • Tests and debugs the program.
  • Writes and maintains user documentation; maintains a help desk.
  • Maintains computer systems and programming guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintains equipment and software; evaluating new equipment.
  • Maintains information confidentiality.
  • Supports the team effort by contributing where needed.
